For someone like me who’ve always wanted to live by the sea again, I must say I am more than fulfilled here! Sorry guys I don’t want to depress you as winter I imagine is coming but life here is pretty much like paradise.
The settings: I ll have a camera next month to load pictures but imagine white fine sand and turquoise water with coconut trees, well that’s Tulum’s beach. It takes me 15 mins on my bike to cycle there. Started to cycle down around 6 am, swim and cycle down. Sooooo cool! Last week I went to the beach for the first time. There was a good side shore wind and…….3 or 4 kite flying in the air!! I was so excited!!! I went to talk to a few kitesurfeurs and was very excited to learn that the wind season is just starting up for about 6 to 7 months!! There is an italian guy giving classes, he was away to Brazil to buy new kites but will be back in Nov so I have decided to start then….with bow kites, the new generation. I hope that a few lessons will do and then the idea is to buy my own equipment and practice as much as possible! There is some guys who live here and seem to practice often so hopefully I will be able to get their help at the begining to lift my kite and stuff. Such a shame Maite is not with me here, we would have been the 2 kite sisters!! I haven’t spotted any girls kitesurfing so far unfortunately!
Ok that’s one thing, now the other thing is diving! I nearly finished my divemaster and supposedly I was able to finalize it with GVI but I sort of figured out that it might be a bit difficult …. little disappointement here but like everywhere else you need to make things happen so I met an ex GVI guy who is a dive instructor in Tulum and he agreed to sign me up some internship dives I’ m missing when he needs a dive master to help him. I hope to get my certification by the end of december…
There is also some amazing cave diving here. I didnt know about it before coming but Tulum is probably the best place in the world to do this kind of activity! So thats another thing Im planning to experience here.
I’ve also found yoga and capoeira angola classes next door to where I live and work so there is plenty of sport activity to keep me happy here!!
But as you know sport is not my only recreational activity, I like to party too hey!…and the good news is that Tulum is pretty much of a party scene too! Mezzanine on the beach, owned by Ibiza couple is opening again next month, we also have Paradise lounge beach bar and a few cool places in town! There is also a very good salsa venue but Im not too sure about this yet as my capoeira friends know, rythm is not my best skill!!
which sucks a bit as I really start missing you all!! ) so COME AND SEE ME IN TULUM!!!
